Planview AdaptiveWork

6.6/10

Enterprise project and portfolio management platform, formerly Clarizen, for PMOs and professional services teams that need resource, financial and portfolio control.

Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology

Overview

Planview AdaptiveWork is the former Clarizen platform, which Planview bought in 2021. It handles work from request intake through delivery. Teams can plan in Gantt timelines with dependencies and milestones or in Kanban workspaces with backlogs and sprints, and hybrid methods are supported. It also covers capacity and resource planning, portfolio roadmaps, risk and issue registers, and goals. Financial tools include budgets, rate cards, timesheets, billable hours tracking, utilization trends and revenue forecasting. For that reason it suits PMOs and professional services organizations better than small task-focused teams. Slide Publisher builds PowerPoint status reports automatically. An External Collaborator portal lets clients and guests see projects, files, discussions and requests. Planview's Anvi AI layer adds sentiment-based risk flags, drafted stakeholder updates and natural-language questions about project data. Listed integrations include Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Excel, Tableau, Box, Google Workspace, SAP, Oracle, Procore and Zendesk, and users can log time from Teams or Slack. Pricing is not published. Buying goes through a demo and a sales quote, and reviewers often describe the product as expensive. Its main limitation is complexity. Reviewers say it can feel overwhelming at first, heavy customization can slow it down, and smaller companies may find it more tool than they need.
