Overview

Quickbase is a low-code application platform from Boston-based Quickbase, Inc. The product started in 1999 as OneBase and was developed under Intuit before being spun out. Instead of giving teams a fixed project board, it lets them build their own apps on a relational database, with dashboards, more than 13 report types, workflow automation, and Gantt charts on the Business tier. Its AI app builder, Pave, generates an app from a written description of the work. The vendor focuses on complex operations in construction, manufacturing, government, and solar. It also sells prebuilt Pro Apps for contract management, CMMS, and safety audits, plus FastField mobile forms for field teams. Pricing is annual only. Team starts at $35 per user per month, Business at $55, and Enterprise is quoted. Third-party sources report user minimums of 20 on Team and 40 on Business, and the vendor also applies an unpublished platform minimum. All users on an account must be on the same plan. The AI Intelligence Pack and Quickbase Extensions, such as document generation and e-signature, cost extra. Enterprise adds on-premises connectivity, data warehouse integrations, and three years of audit logs. Business adds SSO, SCIM, a sandbox, and support for HIPAA and FDA compliance. The main drawback is cost: because of the minimums, a small team pays thousands of dollars a year, and reviewers report a real learning curve for advanced builds.

Cons
