Lucidspark

6.8/10

Lucidspark is a collaborative online whiteboard from Lucid Software. Teams use it to brainstorm, run workshops and plan visually, then turn ideas into tasks.

Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology

Overview

Lucidspark is the virtual whiteboard in Lucid Software's visual collaboration suite, alongside Lucidchart. It gives teams an infinite canvas with sticky notes, freehand drawing, shapes, dynamic mind maps and hundreds of templates, including timelines, Gantt-style layouts and sprint retrospectives. Facilitators get voting, a meeting timer, breakout boards, presentation mode and a way to call collaborators to their spot on the board. Ideas can become Lucid Cards or rows in a Dynamic Table, which gives light task tracking. AI features can generate ideas, sort themes and summarize sessions. Lucidspark suits product, agile and strategy teams that run remote or hybrid workshops, especially organizations that already use Lucidchart. Pricing has four tiers. Free allows three editable boards. Individual is about 9 USD a month billed annually. Team is 10 USD per user per month, or 9 USD billed annually. Enterprise is quoted by sales and adds SAML, sharing controls and the Lucidchart bundle. Lucid lists over 100 integrations, including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Workspace, Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana and Confluence, plus MCP servers for AI assistants. Security credentials are strong: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and FedRAMP Moderate. The main limitation is that Lucidspark is a whiteboard, not a full project management system. It has no time tracking, workload management or detailed project reporting, and reviewers say the many features take time to learn.

Who Lucidspark is best for

Good fit

  • Facilitation tools like voting, timers, breakout boards and call-to-me are built for remote and hybrid workshops.

  • Lucid holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and FedRAMP Moderate certifications, and the Enterprise plan adds SAML, SCIM and sharing controls.

  • The Team plan's facilitator tools and Jira, Asana and Teams integrations fit cross-functional workshops.

  • Templates for sprint retrospectives, Jira and Azure DevOps integrations and positioning for product and agile teams.

  • Guest collaborators and breakout boards support client workshops.

  • FedRAMP Moderate and IRAP authorizations support public sector use.

  • A free plan and low per-user Team pricing make it easy to start.

Less suited

  • Integrates with Jira and Azure DevOps and supports agile retrospectives, though it is a whiteboard rather than a dev tool.

  • Team plan at about 10 USD per user per month is affordable, though the free plan has only three boards.

  • Workshop and brainstorming tools could suit training sessions, but no education-specific features are noted.

  • The Individual plan exists, but reviewers say the price is high for solo use.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Facilitation tools such as voting, timers, breakout boards and call-to-me suit remote workshops.
  • Security credentials are unusually strong for a whiteboard: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001/27701/42001, FedRAMP Moderate and IRAP.
  • It works closely with Lucidchart, which Enterprise plans bundle, for teams that diagram as well as brainstorm.
  • Over 100 integrations, including Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana, Slack, Teams and Zoom.
  • The free plan and 9 to 10 USD per user Team pricing keep the cost of entry low.

Cons

  • The free plan allows only three editable boards.
  • Reviewers often call the paid subscription expensive for individual users.
  • The number of features creates a learning curve for new users, and some find sharing permissions confusing.
  • There is no native time tracking, resource management or project reporting.
  • Reviewers say chart and data tools are weaker than in Lucidchart.
