Overview

Perfex CRM is a self-hosted customer relationship and project management application built on CodeIgniter and sold through Envato's CodeCanyon marketplace by the author MSTdev, which is based in Strumica, North Macedonia. You install it on your own PHP 8.1 and MySQL server. It is not a SaaS subscription. One install covers lead tracking on a Kanban board with web-to-lead forms and email lead import, customer records with a client portal, estimates, proposals, invoices with recurring schedules, expenses, contracts with expiry reminders, projects with tasks, milestones, time tracking and Gantt charts, a ticketing system with email piping and departments, a knowledge base, surveys, goals and built-in reports. It suits freelancers, agencies, consultancies and small service businesses that bill clients for project work and want to own their data without paying monthly per-seat fees. Pricing is a one-time license: $89 for the Regular License, or $385 for the Extended License if your end users pay to use it. Both include 6 months of author support and future updates, and support can be extended to 12 months. Functionality grows through a large third-party module marketplace, with built-in PayPal and Stripe payment gateways, plus connectors such as Bit Integrations for WordPress automation. The main limitation is that you run the hosting, cron jobs, updates and security yourself. Critics also describe the reporting as fairly static and say it lacks advanced sales automation, AI features and white-label branding unless you add third-party modules.

Who Perfex CRM is best for

Good fit

  • The one-time low price and the combination of invoicing, time tracking and projects fit solo service providers well.

  • Client portal, proposals, project billing and tickets cover agency client work, though white-labelling is limited.

  • Contracts, estimates, time tracking and billable projects match consulting workflows.

  • It covers many business functions with no per-seat fees, provided someone can manage hosting.

Less suited

  • The lead Kanban and proposals work, but advanced sales automation and forecasting are limited.

  • It is a self-managed single-tenant PHP app with no published compliance certifications or enterprise support.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • The one-time $89 license replaces recurring per-user subscription fees.
  • Combines CRM, project management, invoicing, contracts and help desk tickets in one install.
  • Strong marketplace reputation: about 26,000 CodeCanyon sales and a 4.88 rating from roughly 1,500 reviews.
  • Self-hosting gives you full control over your data, and the code can be extended with hooks, custom fields and third-party modules.
  • Actively maintained, with an update released in March 2026.

Cons

  • You manage the server, cron jobs, updates and backups yourself.
  • Reviewers call the reporting basic and static compared with SaaS CRMs.
  • Lacks advanced marketing and sales automation and AI features without add-on modules.
  • Branding options are limited, and there is no first-party mobile app mentioned on the official site.
  • Support is limited to 6 months unless you pay to extend it.
