OVHcloud
6.6/10French cloud provider offering shared web hosting, VPS, dedicated servers and an OpenStack-based public cloud for businesses and developers.
Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology
Overview
OVHcloud is a European infrastructure provider based in France that runs its own data centers and builds its own servers. It sells cheap shared web hosting, VPS plans, bare-metal dedicated servers, and a public cloud built on OpenStack. The public cloud includes compute and GPU instances, Managed Kubernetes, S3-compatible object storage, and managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB and Valkey. It also has AI services such as AI Endpoints, AI Training and AI Deploy. The range suits several kinds of buyer. Freelancers and small businesses can run a website on shared hosting. Developers and startups get low-cost VPS and cloud capacity. European companies that need their data hosted in the EU can use it for sovereignty reasons. Pricing depends on the product. Web hosting is billed on 12-month terms, with low introductory prices that rise sharply at renewal. VPS plans have fixed monthly prices starting around 4.54 USD. Public cloud is billed hourly or monthly, and Savings Plans cut up to 30 percent. API calls and network traffic are included in cloud prices, which is unusual in this market. Automation is available through the OVHcloud API, a CLI, a Terraform provider and the native OpenStack APIs, and shared hosting supports Plesk, cPanel and Git. The main limitation is support. Reviews on G2 and Trustpilot often describe slow or unresponsive tickets and a confusing control panel. The 2021 fire at its Strasbourg SBG2 data center, which destroyed customer data and backups, still affects how some buyers see its reliability.
