Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology
Overview
Civo is a cloud provider built around managed Kubernetes. Clusters run on K3s, a lightweight CNCF-certified distribution, and launch in about 90 seconds. The control plane is free and highly available, and you pay only for worker nodes, volumes and optional extras. Alongside Kubernetes, Civo sells standalone compute instances, managed PostgreSQL databases, S3-style object storage, block volumes, load balancers and GPU offerings. A marketplace of over 100 apps can be installed directly onto clusters. It also offers CivoStack Enterprise for customers who want private or sovereign deployments. Pricing is published and billed hourly, with charges rounded up to the full hour and invoiced monthly. Standard Kubernetes nodes start at $5.43 a month. Ingress and egress bandwidth are free and unlimited, which is a real difference from the hyperscalers. New accounts get $250 of credit for the first month, and committed-spend discounts are available through sales. Teams can manage resources through the web console, the Civo CLI, a REST API, Terraform or Pulumi. Regions include London, Frankfurt, New York, Mumbai and Jakarta. Civo lists ISO 27001, SOC 2 and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications, and it is a UK G-Cloud supplier. Its best fit is developers, startups and SaaS teams that want cheap, simple Kubernetes without hidden transfer fees. The main limitation is breadth. Civo has far fewer managed services and regions than AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Its public documentation is described as uneven, and there are very few independent reviews to check its reliability against.
