Overview
SmartTask is a work management tool for teams that deliver work to clients, such as creative agencies, marketing firms and consultancies. It has tasks with subtasks, dependencies, custom fields and files, plus list, board, calendar and timeline views. It also includes workload planning, time tracking with hourly rates and invoicing, budgeting, dashboards and portfolios. A branded client portal lets you choose which projects, tasks or comments clients see. A built-in sales CRM, team chat and AI agents mean some teams can use it instead of separate CRM and messaging tools. Pricing is per user. The Free Forever plan allows unlimited users, tasks, projects, guests and contacts. On yearly billing, Premium costs 6 USD per user per month and adds custom fields, forms, workflows, reminders and AI agents. Business costs 11 USD per user per month and adds timeline view, dashboards, portfolios, time tracking and budgeting. Enterprise is quoted by sales and adds SSO, whitelabel, enterprise API access and a customer success manager. Monthly-billing prices were not shown on the pricing page. SmartTask connects to other apps through Make, Pabbly Connect, Integrately and similar automation platforms, and it has a developer API and iOS and Android apps. The company is small and founder-led, and the founder says he has personally set up more than 500 implementations. The main drawbacks are the interface and speed. Reviewers often call the look dated, say the app can be slow to start, and report occasional bugs, especially in the mobile app. Timeline view and time tracking also require the Business plan.
