Overview
Perplexity Enterprise is the business edition of Perplexity's AI answer engine. Staff can ask questions and get cited answers drawn from the live web, premium data sources, uploaded files, and connected workplace apps. It is mainly a research tool for knowledge workers such as analysts, consultants, sales and marketing teams who need sourced answers fast. Users can pick from several frontier models, including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google models, inside one interface. Pricing is per seat in two tiers. Enterprise Pro costs about $40 per seat per month, or $400 per seat per year on annual billing, and eligible schools and nonprofits pay less. Enterprise Max is reported at $325 per seat per month and adds unlimited research and Labs queries, top-tier models, larger file limits, and priority support. Some governance features, such as data retention settings and audit logging, are reported to need at least 50 seats or one Enterprise Max user. The API is billed separately and is not included in any plan. On security, Perplexity says it holds SOC 2 Type II, supports GDPR and HIPAA, offers SSO and SCIM, and does not train on enterprise data. The main limitation is that it answers questions but does not take actions in business systems the way a workflow automation tool does. Usage caps have also changed with little warning, which has drawn user complaints.
