Businessmap

6.8/10

Businessmap, formerly Kanbanize, is a Kanban-based platform that connects strategy, OKRs, portfolio planning and team workflows for mid-size and enterprise organisations.

Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology

Overview

Businessmap is the October 2023 rebrand of Kanbanize, a Sofia, Bulgaria based vendor. Most company databases give its founding year as 2008. It sells itself as a business agility platform. Organisations model their work as Kanban boards inside unlimited workspaces, then link that execution to OKRs, KPIs, initiatives and portfolio dashboards. Other features include a Smart Canvas and whiteboards, a planning or Gantt view, timelines and milestones, dependency management, custom fields, process policies, project forecasting, flow analytics and AI tools. The same 2023 announcement covered the acquisition of the consultancy Berriprocess Agility, and the company pairs its software with consulting and training. Pricing is seat-based, and the Standard plan includes every core feature rather than splitting them into tiers. Businessmap does not list prices on its site, so you request a quote through the trial or calculator. Annual billing saves over 20% compared with monthly. Automation rules are an add-on, capped at 300 on Standard, and SSO with two-factor authentication is also an add-on. The custom-priced Enterprise plan adds a dedicated cloud instance, 1 TB of storage instead of 100 GB, IP whitelisting, 24/7 support, a dedicated customer success manager, free migration and training. Integrations cover Jira, GitLab, Bitbucket and SVN; Power BI, Tableau and Looker Studio; Okta, OneLogin and Azure AD for SSO; Zapier, Make and Power Automate; and a REST API. The main drawback is complexity. Reviewers say the dense interface and the depth of configuration overwhelm new users, and smaller teams find it expensive. Native integrations are fairly few, so many connections run through middleware.

Who Businessmap is best for

Good fit

  • Its portfolio and OKR features, dedicated instances, IP whitelisting and Enterprise SLA are built for large organisations, and the vendor cites Fortune 50 customers.

  • Mid-Market
    8/10

Seat-based Standard pricing with every core feature included suits mid-size companies that want to link strategy to delivery.

Less suited

  • Agile coaches and consultancies review it well for Kanban and OKR work, and the vendor runs its own consulting practice.

  • Reviewers say it is pricey and complex for small teams.

  • It is a seat-based organisational platform with no free plan, so it is a poor fit for individuals.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Links OKRs and KPIs, portfolio initiatives and team Kanban boards in one system, so leaders can trace strategy down to individual work items.
  • Flow analytics, forecasting and BI connectors for Power BI, Tableau and Looker Studio give it stronger reporting than typical board tools.
  • Boards, workflows, custom fields and business rules are highly configurable and support Agile, hybrid and waterfall methods.
  • The Standard plan has no feature tiers, so every seat gets all core features.
  • Capterra reviewers rate support and the knowledge base highly.

Cons

  • Reviewers report a steep learning curve and a dense interface that overwhelms new users.
  • No prices are published, and reviewers say it is expensive for small teams.
  • Automation and SSO are paid add-ons rather than included features.
  • There are few native integrations, and many connections rely on Zapier, Make or custom work.
  • Boards with heavy automation and a lot of data can lag.
