Overview

Atlantic.Net is a hosting provider that began in Gainesville, Florida, in 1994. It sells cloud VPS servers, dedicated and bare metal servers, colocation, GPU hosting, block storage, backup and disaster recovery, and managed security and server management. Most buyers know it for compliance hosting. Its HIPAA plans come with a signed Business Associate Agreement as standard, and the company is audited for SOC 2, SOC 3, HIPAA and HITECH, which makes it a common shortlist pick for healthcare software vendors and medical practices. Cloud servers are billed hourly, at the monthly rate divided by 672 hours, up to a monthly cap. General Purpose plans start at $10 a month for 2GB of RAM, and memory, storage and compute optimized families run into the thousands of dollars a month. One-year and three-year commitments lower the price, steeply so on the optimized families, and Windows costs more. Daily backups cost an extra 20% of the server price. Extra IPv4 addresses are $3.65 a month each, and outbound traffic above the allowance is $0.02 per GB. Dedicated server base configurations are quote-only. The managed Fortress dedicated bundles start at about $1,048 a month on a 12-month term. Atlantic.Net runs eight regions: San Francisco, Dallas, Toronto, Ashburn, New York, Orlando, London and Singapore. It offers a cloud platform API and support around the clock. The main limitation is breadth. Compared with hyperscalers or developer clouds, it does not advertise managed Kubernetes, serverless functions, managed databases or object storage. Stopped servers are still billed until you delete them.
