Airtable
6.6/10Airtable is a no-code relational database and app-building platform that teams use to track projects, content, and operations through grids, boards, timelines, and automations.
Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology
Overview
Airtable combines a spreadsheet-style grid with a relational database. Teams link records, roll up values, and write formulas, then show the same data as grid, Kanban, calendar, timeline, or Gantt views. Interface Designer lets builders create custom dashboards and simple apps on top of a base. Automations can run triggered workflows, and AI credits are included on every plan. Airtable suits marketing, content, product, and operations teams who need a structured tracker they can shape themselves. It fits less well for teams that only want an off-the-shelf task manager. Pricing is per seat, and a seat is anyone with edit rights on at least one base. Read-only users and form submitters are free. The Free plan caps each base at 1,000 records. Team costs 24 dollars per user per month on monthly billing, or 20 dollars on annual billing, and allows 50,000 records per base. Business costs 54 or 45 dollars and allows 125,000 records, plus two-way sync and an admin panel. Enterprise Scale is quoted by sales and adds SSO, HIPAA support with a BAA, and higher limits. Integrations include Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, Jira, GitHub, Salesforce, Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau, Zendesk, Claude, and ChatGPT, plus an API. The main limitation is the record cap per base: growing past 50,000 records forces a jump from Team to Business pricing for every editor. Ownership is also uncertain. Bending Spoons completed its purchase of Airtable in September 2026 and followed it with layoffs, and some customers worry about future price or roadmap changes.
Our Rating
Who Airtable is best for
Good fit
Reviewers commonly use it for content operations and campaign tracking, helped by its calendar and timeline views and social media integrations.
Non-developers can build CRMs, trackers, and inventory systems quickly without writing code.
Enterprise Scale offers SSO, HIPAA support with a BAA, and SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance, but per-base record caps and the change of ownership are risks.
Business adds two-way sync, an admin panel, and 125,000 records per base, though per-seat costs climb as more people need edit access.
The free plan and the 20-dollar Team plan work for small teams, but reviewers say per-editor pricing feels high for them.
Less suited
Read-only share links and forms let agencies work with clients at no seat cost, but every editor is billed.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Linked records, rollups, lookups, and formulas give real relational modeling that non-developers can maintain, and reviewers rate its customization at 4.6 on G2.
- The same data can be shown as grid, Kanban, calendar, timeline, or Gantt views, and Interface Designer can turn it into simple apps.
- Read-only collaborators, form submitters, and share-link viewers are not billed, which helps teams that share work with clients or stakeholders.
- A broad set of integrations, including Salesforce, Jira, Snowflake, Databricks, Slack, Claude, and ChatGPT, plus a public API.
- Security credentials include SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, SAML SSO, and HIPAA support with a BAA on Enterprise Scale.
Cons
- Every user with edit access pays for a seat, so costs grow quickly as more people adopt it.
- Moving past 50,000 records per base forces a jump from 20 to 45 dollars per seat on annual billing, with no tier in between.
- Reviewers report slower performance and limited advanced reporting on large bases.
- Complex setups take time to learn, and reviewers score its ease of use and support lower than its flexibility.
- Bending Spoons bought Airtable in 2026 and followed with layoffs, which leaves customers unsure about future pricing and the product roadmap.
